Becoming lost, trapped or in distress is the worst possible
situation and the one most feared by all firefighters. However, learning
skills to help recognizing these situations, becoming more proactive and
help for firefighters to overcome these obstacles
may greatly improve your chances of survival.
PETZL EXO PERSONAL ESCAPE SYSTEM BASIC TRAINING COURSE
The PETZL EXO Personal Escape System, also refered to as the FDNY Personal Safety System (PSS), is one of the most innovative products the fire service has seen in years. This system has been certified by UL and meets applicable NFPA standards. Due to the critical nature of the application, Petzl has required that all end users attend a basic training class. Petzl has certified First Due Training to administer this training.

RIT RESCUE & ESCAPE SYSTEM
- PRODUCT TRAINING COURSES
RIT Rescue & Escape Systems provides high quality escape
and rescue products for firefighters worldwide. As an authorized dealer,
First Due Training provides a comprehensive training course that will orient
users on the use, handling and care of the systems and their components.
From firefighter escape and bailout systems, to group and large area search,
RIT products are a vital tool to any fire department's equipment.

FIREFIGHTER BAILOUT / ESCAPE - AWARENESS LEVEL CLASS
Contact Hours: 2-4
This class provides an overview of various firefighter escape systems and how to use them. It also places emphasis on what firefighters should do when "things get bad", such as locating a safety zone, calling a "mayday", etc.
FIREFIGHTER BAILOUT / ESCAPE - OPERATIONS LEVEL CLASS
Contact Hours: 6-8
A continuation of our "Awareness Class", but with the opportunity for students to "bail out" from upper floors. Students get a chance to experiment
with different bail out systems, such as the Petzl EXO, RIT Escape Systems and others.

SCBA CONFIDENCE
Contact Hours: 2-4
Firefighters will learn various advanced techniques of the self-contained
breathing apparatus (SCBA) including air conservation, reduced profile
and more, and will promote comfort and confidence while “on air” and
using SCBA. First Due Training’s SCBA maze can be set up on any
apparatus floor or open area.
MAYDAY COMMUNICATIONS
Contact Hours: 2-4
This class addresses the important need to know components of
radio communications during an emergency. When critical information has
to be relayed to save a fellow firefighter’s life, will you be
able to make the difference? This class is applicable for all firefighters,
from chief officers to probationary members.
