FIREFIGHTER RESCUE
Our most popular series of classes, firefighter
rescue training is an important and vital necessity for ALL firefighters. Whether you have an established RIT or FAST team or you are a rookie firefighter, all members should know how to rescue a brother or sister firefighter. Many
of the techniques offered are lessons learned from tragedy.
FIREFIGHTER RESCUE, PART I
Contact Hours: 2-4
- Nance Drill- provides the skills necessary
to rescue trapped firefighters who have fallen through a compromised
floor. Different techniques are demonstrated and taught using tools that every firefighter has at hand. These
techniques include using hose lines, ropes and hand tools.
- Drags, Carries and Packaging of Down Firefighters- This class through demonstration and hands on practice enables students to use webbing, harnesses and simple techniques to remove down firefighter to safety. Students
will learn new methods of moving down firefighters between different
levels and along the horizontal plane.
FIREFIGHTER RESCUE, PART II
Contact Hours: 2-4
- Denver Drill- The Denver Drill provides the skills necessary to rescue trapped firefighters from tight spaces and removals through windows and other small openings. Simple
techniques can mean the difference between life and death for the down
firefighter.
- Ladder as a High Point Drill- Students
learn to remove a down firefighter out of a window using a ladder and
a life safety rope. Different methods including mechanical advantages
are demonstrated and reinforced with repeated hands-on during the exercise.

FIREFIGHTER RESCUE, PART III
Contact Hours: 2-4
- Scenarios are provided to the students
that test their ability to use the skills they have learned from Firefighter
Rescue Part I and II. Firefighters work with all PPE and SCBA with limited
visibility.
FIREFIGHTER RESCUE TECHNIQUES & TACTICS
Contact Hours: 6-8
- This class encompasses Firefighter Rescue Part I, II,
and III. This class is usually done on a weekend day.
